Triathlon Calls Again!
I have decided to start a blog to show others my journey back to triathlon and how I try and reach my goal which is qualifying for 2019 Ironman World Champs in Kona.
After 3 years of bike racing i have decided to head back to the triathlon world. It was a hard decision to make as I loved bike racing and kind of felt like I hadn't really got going.
One of my ambitions was to race for a professional women's team, and I felt confident I could have got there. However sometimes in bike racing there are crashes and for me bike crashes = broken bones :-(
I will still bike race a little with my local team Velo Vitesse. The Velo Vitesse are a great club and have some really talented guys and gals. They really looked after me this year when I was not having much luck with injuries and so grateful for their support.
Below are some of the pictures from the highs and lows of the past 3 years.
So back to triathlon it is!
I am racing with 'Team Vitfor" for 2018 and its going to be mega!
Vitfor is an online training system which tailors each individual to a specific programme for their cycling or running needs.
So it starts....
I have been back running and swimming now for the last 3 months and am loving it. Never thought i would say I actually enjoy running.
As one of my ironman races includes running up a mountain i thought i best try some trail running, I have also completed 3 off road races and so far I have won all 3! I am defiantly not a natural runner but really trying to get to grips with it. I have started running with my local running club, Cirencester AC, they have an great coach whom i find has really helped me.
I am finding it hard to get back into swimming but I think this will just take time, as for my cycling I am just ticking along, praying that my bike legs will be as strong as they were this year when bike racing.
Thats all for now, I will keep you all up to date on my progress with my road to Kona.
