Christmas Festivites

Happy new year everyone!!!

Christmas 2017 was a pretty chilled one, I finished work on the Friday just before christmas. That evening I enjoyed myself with all my work colleagues at our christmas party, I ate lots of food and laughed lots.

Christmas weekend I managed to get some training done as well as visit my family and friends. Although the weather was pretty rubbish I ran for two and half hours very slow off road. On the Sunday (xmas eve) I did a turbo session as yet again the weather was bad.

Christmas day was great as it was just me and Trevor and our 2 cats. We went out on our cyclo cross bikes for a little ride, then by midday it was food and drink time.

During the week of christmas I managed to run a few times and bike once, not great but better to stay warm and not risk outside in the horrible weather. Its the time of year where people over train and then get ill.

Trevor and I took part in the Gingerbread run on new years eve, this was a 5 mile off road run. It was not a race just a run raising money for charity. I really wasn't feeling 100% when running in this event, I think it was mainly because I had eaten so much over christmas, like most people do.

New years day we both went and took part in the New years day 10 mile TT. I have been doing this now for the past 3 years, I think its a great way to start the new year! Its just a bit of fun, I ride my winter bike with winter kit on, so the time is never great. However this year I did a 2 up with Trevor and our time wasn't too bad. I think it was 25.30, I was happy with that.

I am super excited about this year, I can't wait to be racing for Team Vitor for my triathlons and Velo Vitesse for my road races.

There are so many events I would like to do. I have a 6 hour run race at the end of this month, not too sure why I had entered this but again its all fun and good training leading up to my Ultra Ironman in June.

So far my main races for 2018 are Mallorca 70.3 in May and Ultra Ironman in June, I am very tempted to enter Ironman Wales too as its a qualifier for Ironman Worlds Champs in 2019. My goal over the next year is to be on the podium for all my races, which means I have a lot of training to do.

I have a few there local races such as castle Combe duathlon in February and Bourton 10km road race.

I will keep you up to date with my training leading up to my 6 hour trail race in 2 weeks.
